Amy Johnson Crow(www.amyjohnsoncrow.com//) gave motivation for genealogical bloggers with her 2018 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks Challenge. My plan is to take up the challenge and present a post each week of 2018 about one of my ancestors. I hope you will join me and keep me on track as I give you some interesting stories or information about one of my ancestors and perhaps, yours, too.
It's a new year and time for a new start. A lot of things were going on that put my blog on the back burner. Well, I'm hoping to put it up front and post again on a regular basis.

The WPA and Cemeteries - The In-Depth Genealogist
You might remember learning about the Work Progress Administration or WPA in history class when you were in school. Like most of us, you probably don’t remember much about it, except that it was part of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal. THEINDEPTHGENEALOGIST.COM|BY DEBBIE MAYES My new lecture went great in Shelby County. I let the audience participate in solving a genealogical problem caused by conflicting information by using the Genealogical Proof Standard. I think it helped them understand the GPS better and they had fun participating. Union County has invited me to do this program for their chapter in 2016.
I will be speaking this evening, Oct. 13th, 2015 for the Shelby County Genealogical Society in Sidney, Ohio at 7 p.m. They have a new genealogical center that I haven't seen yet so I'm excited to be speaking in their new home. Nice group. I've spoken for them many times. So many, in fact, that they told me they wanted me to come and speak but they've heard all of my lectures and when was I going to create some new ones. So, to my friends in Shelby County, I've prepared a new one just for you (and anyone else who'd like me to present it to their groups). It's called "Where's the Proof?" and is about using the Genealogical Proof Standard. Hope to see you there!
My mom has not gotten any worse so I've decided that it's time to start speaking and doing things again. I'm taking bookings to speak for the remainder of 2015 and scheduling for 2016. Click on Lectures and Speaking Schedule for topics and available dates. Please contact me to schedule me to speak for your organization. Thanks.

On September 26th, I'll be speaking for the Richland County Genealogical Society at the OGS Library. The topic will be Copus Hill: A Tragedy in Ohio History. I will be presenting the program for the Daughters of Union Civil War Veterans District Meeting on September 28th in Lima. Finding Eliza Jane will be the topic.
